Writers write things to publish them so that readers may enjoy them. Simple, right? Well I did the writing part, and these wonderful magazines, anthologies, and journals did the publishing part. All that is left is for me to invite you to enjoy them. So here are some of my recently published short stories.
First, the horror stories, my primary genre of operation:
“Intimate Flesh” – Two adulterous lovers wake up in a “sticky” situation. Underground Voices, September 2009.
“The Meaning of Life” – A husband’s obsession with serial killer lore leads to domestic friction. Morpheus Tales, October 2009.
“Anonymous Letter in Your Mailbox” – A twisted stalker writes a love letter. Twisted Dreams, October 2009.
“Blades” – The men of a small town meditate on things—big, small, and sometimes dark—while cutting the grass. Johnny America, December 2009.
“Detail” – A “discreet” car detailer cleans up the backseat evidence of crimes and infidelities, and falls for one of his clients, creating a mess that even he may be incapable of cleaning up. The Death Panel, November 2009.
“Stretcher of Faces” – A boy tries to escape a dark force that has invaded his subconscious. Morpheus Tales, January 2010.
“Hatch” – A down-on-his-luck mechanic finds that the little piece of food stuck in his mouth might be something far more sinister. Necrotic Tissue, April 2010.
“Threshold” – Sure, these girls are pretty, but what’s behind the strange looking doors in their basement? Sick Things, June 2010.
And if you're not in the mood for horror:
“Sports Troll” – A man must endure the resident sports trash-talker at his office building. Stymie, TBA.
“Strings” – A married couple tries to stay faithful in a world where adultery has become not only accepted, but is legally mandated by the government. CC&D, January 2010.
“Punches” – A backyard boxing match shows glimpses of a soldier in the making. River Styx, April 2009.
